Lloyd Darringer and Isaac Hartman represented the chapter in the beginner division for freshmen and sophomores. Each student completed a general knowledge exam, and then used the shielded metal arc welding process to complete a series of welds for scoring. The team of Darringer and Hartman placed first in the beginner division.
They are eligible to compete at the state competition in Indianapolis on Saturday, Jan. 28.
